I got to the top of the hill just past Espanola and looked back. John & Susan were behind me now. They had just dropped me off after a trip to Canadian Tire to fix Gidget's flat. John felt so bad cause it wasn't flat when we left their home and somewhere along the way he snagged a safety pin and when we unloaded Gidget her tire was flat. Canadian Tire didn't charge anything for the repair. It wasn't the first flat and I knew it wouldn't be the last.
I looked to the west and let out a big sigh. It was like starting over again. A new road ahead and no end in site. But I felt like it was my highway. This part of Ontario brought back alot of memories of growing up. We lived in Elliot Lake for a few years and spent many holidays and weekends with family between Blind River and Sudbury. It almost feels like going home.
There were some honks today but not many. The wind was strong coming from the west. There were a few periods of drizzle and it was a bit colder today. Most people I talked with shared their feelings about the problems they have with strays in their communities. People who don't prevent their cats from wondering and how annoying it is for everyone. There are an awful lot of people who just can't afford the cost of spay or neutering their pets.

Hey Michelle! I wanted to let you know I saw you on Rogers TV in Ottawa last night. I can't believe what a committment you are making. You are my hero! This is a courageous task you've taken on. To make it as far as you have is amazing, and you are to be commended. You're doing a wonderful thing. I wish you all the best on your journey. You are making a difference.
