Adversity brings about perseverance; perseverance brings about character; character brings about hope and hope does not dissappoint.
I tell myself this all the time. Every mile, every hill, every step. Even if I have to climb all the way to Wawa, I will. I will because even if I don't make it, at least I will have tried.
It was so hot today. I passed a few more cyclists. I got to the Michipicoten River and decided to jump in. It only went to below my knees but it was cold. I lied on my back and let the water carry me a bit and then did it again, and again. It cooled off my burning feet. A couple of people passed me in a canoe and waved. Once I was refreshed I crossed the bridge and it wasn't too far that I started to see advertising signs. That usually meant I was within 10 miles or less of something. Wawa was just ahead. I started to get excited about getting there. Once I saw the services on the highway I started to run a little faster. It was that feeling you get when you lose something and it finally turns up after hours of searching. Its a good feeling.
As I usually did, I stopped at the Information Centre to get info about the area. I met a couple of people who had seen me on the highway during their travels and they asked me how I was doing. It was great talking with people again. It hadn't been that long but it felt like it.
Even animals need compassion and kindness!
