Day 90/91 - Spragge

Day 1
After a couple of days of heavy rain I was happy to get moving again. There wasn't alot to see along this way. I made a pit stop in Spanish and then again at the rest stop at the Elliot Lake junction. I chatted with a guy on a motor bike who was out of gas and looking for a gas station. I went down the road a couple of km and camped at the KOA campground. It poured rain while I put up my tent. The tenting area was right beside the train tracks. I took a shower and hung out in the laundry until the rain stopped. My feet were throbbing so I spent some time massaging them. I wondered how much longer I could keep this up. When I got back to my tent there were two female cyclists from Ireland camped beside me and we chatted for a bit. It rained all night. All the dogs in the campground started barking in the middle of the night and woke me up. Must of been something wild running thru the park. I woke up another time cause a train passed thru. It was still dark so I fell back to sleep. It was still raining.

Day 2
I woke up to the sound of pouring rain. I looked outside and it was the type of sky that wasn't going to clear up anytime soon. I grabbed my wallet and put on my rain suit and went over to Rocky's Restaurant across the hwy. I met Michelle and David from Elliot Lake who were there having breakfast. We chatted for awhile. They invited me to stay in their hard top camper they have parked at South Bay Park just outside Elliot Lake. We went over to the campground and thru my stuff in their hatchback. They gave me a tour of Elliot Lake and stopped at a grocery store so I could pickup some supplies. We went to their house and I met their son Alexandre. They have a nice home at the edge of town. The rain didn't let up. They got me settled into the camper and later brought me back some dinner and some snacks. They would be back in the morning to pick me up and take me back to the hwy.
