I had a restless sleep that night. All of us that had camped at the Info Centre chatted a bit while we were packing up. Before I left White River I had breakfast at the restaurant and picked up some supplies at the store. There were alot of cyclists today passing through White River going east.
The distance from White River to Marathon was 88km or two days. I told myself I had to keep going. Half a mile up the road White River was now out of my sight. I passed a number of cyclists for awhile but then that stopped. Almost halfway to Marathon I came across Dunc Lake Lodge. It was a great spot to camp for the night. There was a restaurant and gas station. That meant food and water. I met the owners and they let me put up my tent next to the cabins out back. I took and shower and went for something to eat. Before I headed for my tent I met a couple of biologists who had just arrived and would be working in the area. It was interesting talking with them.
It was a quiet night other than some campers pulling up to a cabin after dark. There headlights lit up my tent. I had put Gidget and most of my stuff in the shower building which would keep things dry. This gave me a little more sleeping room in my tent. Tomorrow would be a long run to Marathon but the thought of getting there motivated me.
Even animals need compassion and kindness!
