Michelle & Dave picked me up and took me for breakfast in Elliot Lake before they brought me back to Rocky's Restaurant. While I was running I thought how fortunate I was to have met them yesterday and how generous they had been to go out of their way for me. I have never experienced quiet like I did last night in their camper. There was no traffic noise from the highway and not a sound from the campers. It was so dark and quiet it felt like being in a black soundproof room. You could only experience that kind of dead silence deep in the wilderness. It was an experience in itself.
I got to Blind River and decided to celebrate. It was 3 months today since I left St. John's NL. I decided to stay at the Old Mill Motel since the campground was too far off the hwy from here. I would celebrate at Tim Horton's across the street, even if it was by myself and on a Sunday. I ordered a large DD, close enough to a drink.
