It didn't rain that night but you would think it did judging by the dampness. Everything was wet. I got up and went inside the station to use the washroom and had a coffee. I put everything into the sun to give stuff a chance to dry before I packed up. The bugs were really bad.
I don't think I was mentally prepared for yesterday and today. For some reason I think I thought the worst would be over once I reached Wawa. It feels like I'm climbing a mountain everyday and having to get up and do it all over again the next day. I have to ask myself every morning if it was in me. I kept telling myself I could do it. I believe in what I'm doing.
It was hot again today and more hills. It was up and down, up and down, up and down. I was going through socks so much I was getting worried I didn't have enough. I met up with two more cyclists and they told me there was no campgrouond in White River but the Information Centre would let me put my tent up there and I would be able to take a shower at the Husky Truck stop. I was anxious to get there.
I finally reached White River and let out a sigh of relief. Today seemed to take forever to get through. I stopped for something to eat and had a shower at the Husky. They also had coin laundry so I washed some clothes. While I was waiting I met a truck driver doing his laundry and we had some great conversations. He wished me luck.
I went over to the Info Centre and setup my tent beside a very nice couple also camped there, Jesse and Josette. They invited me to join them for something to eat. They were very kind and thought what I was doing was a great cause.
Before I went to sleep I went over to the restaurant to make some calls and use the washroom. I was relieved to be in White River. Each day I really didn't know what to expect. I would just take it one day at a time. It didn't take me long to fall asleep.
Even animals need compassion and kindness!
