Leaving for St. John's NL

Well this is it!
One more sleep in my own warm bed and then its off to St. John's. I'll have a few days in St. John's before I start my trek across Canada. I'm excited and worried at the same time but I put my trust in God that he will answer my prayers. I'm excited about the people I will meet for the first time and comforted by the fact that we share a common goal. Dorit Girash of Let Live Canada & Jazzpurr will be flying to St. John's to be there for the beginning. She has been so supportive and I can't wait to finally meet her. It means the world to me that she will be there. I'm looking forward to visiting the local animal shelters and seeing what life is like for them. People who work in animal shelters are my hero's. They are such caring people and sacrifice so much. They do amazing things for animals. And I'm also looking forward to meeting YOU along the way!

I'm a bit worried, not for me but for my family and friends. I know they will worry about me especially my sisters. They worry about my health and how I will survive. I believe I've prepared myself as much as I can. Many hours of running in all kinds of weather. My only concern is with my survival pak. It weighs about 25 lbs. I've had to make several adjustments so that its manageable. I'm ready to go but only God knows what lies ahead. I trust that he will determine my steps. I only know what my heart tells me. To stand up and fight for something I believe in with all my heart and soul. My conscience drives me and I will stop at nothing.

I'm grateful for the tremendous support and encouragement that has already been shown me. The response so far has been great! I believe that most people are kind and want to help. I never get tired of doing the right thing and I won't stop until we do whats right for our animals.

If you see me on the road, please stop and say hello and sign my flag!
Check in from time to time and I will keep you posted with updates whenever I can.

Your friend,
Michelle

Good Luck Michelle! It is a wonderful thing that you are doing to bring the idea of a No-kill Canada to our country. It is long overdue and all animals will greatly benefit from your passion, energy and commitment.

Step by step, you are making a huge difference!
