Day 75 - Pembroke

I got all my stuff together and Jen dropped me off at the highway. I wouldn't see them again until the fall. Up ahead was Pembroke where I would stay with my cousin while going thru the next few towns.

About 20 minutes into my run my good friend and massage therapist Andree pulled up. She had the day off and decided to join me on the road for this stretch. She brought her dog Max and all kinds of things from food to first aid ready for anything.

Today was a much cooler day and just a bit of wind. Not shortly after Andree joined me a friend of her Mother pulled up to follow as well. Her name was Cecil and she was a great supporter. It was great having such support behind me and made running today go much better.

We reached the exit for Pembroke just before the hill and that was where we stopped. We drove to the Marina to rest up. It was a bit cooler there and Cecil had bought coffee which helped warm us up. Andree's Mom came to the marina and chatted with us for a bit. We waited there until my cousin Andre came and picked me up. We went back to his house for a shower and some dinner.

When I laid in bed I thought how encouraging it was to have so much support. Every day that passes I wonder if one more cat or dog has been saved.
