Jen fixed Gidgets flat tire and gave her a check up. Jen is a mechanic by trade and got Gidget ready to go for me but she told me Gidget probably won't make the trip and will need replacing soon.
It was another extremely hot day and I was glad that I only had to carry a back pak and a minimal load. I was a bit tired today. I was sleeping out in their camper but killing mosquitos during the night kept me up. They were getting in somehow. Lynda dropped me off in Arnprior and would pick me up later in Renfrew. She would check in on me periodically and brought powerade drinks and a few snacks. It was slow going and back to back humid days was making the run more difficult and taking its toll. I couldn't wait to be done. Thinking about all the animals that would suffer today kept me going.
I got thru my run and Lynda picked me up at the Renfrew exit. They had a pool at their place so a swim was very refreshing. They fed me and did everything they could to help me out. They are the best of friends.
Even animals need compassion and kindness!
