Day 70-72 - Saturday June 23 - Ottawa

A friend of mine from ice hockey, Michele, and her dog Buddy were waiting on the corner of Charlemagne and Valin. My friend, Andree from Massage Express, was running with me. We stopped and took some pictures and talked for a bit. It was great seeing Michele and her support meant alot to me.

Andree would stop a few miles down the road but would then follow me in her car holding a flag. It was great. People were honking and waving. Not long after another friend from hockey pulled up with her two sons to show their support. We had a nice quick visit and it we were off again. They followed for a bit and then had to go. ANother friend of a friend named, Paggy Sue, stopped to say hello. Andree could only follow me as far as Bank st and then she had to go. When I got the Humane Society I stopped in to say hello. I spent the rest of the day resting and wondering about the road ahead and asked myself if this was making a difference.

On Sunday Andree of Massage Express gave my feet a good work over. She gave me a foot messager to take with me and some exercises to do.

On Monday i met up with Dorit who had flown up for our media conference at the RA Centre. When we got to the RA Centre it was great to see so many of my friends there and my sister and godchild to show there support. We went up to the Fieldhouse afterwards for something to eat. Words cannot express enough how much their presence meant to me. It gave me encouragement to keep going.

That night I went to Rogers studio for the Talk Ottawa evening show. James did a great job hosting us and hopefully it reached a large audience. Somehow we had to get more people involved.
