158 - Mortlach

I heard Ray and Karen moving around so I figured it was time to get up. It was so dark in my room I couldn't tell if it was morning or night. They had put coffee on and were starting breakfast. Karen brought my clothes up from the dryer. We chatted some more while we ate and Karen even made me a lunch to take with me. That was so nice of her.

Ray dropped me off back at the Information Centre on his way to the shelter. It was a much cooler morning and I felt like I was bundled up for winter. Running was warming me up and I thought about how great it was that I got to spend that kind of time with Ray and Karen. They had been so nice but it was also great talking to them about things that needed to be done to solve the overpopulation problem. We also talked about other things and had some good chuckles on ways to come up with the money needed.

There were more rolling hills again today and still a gradual climb. The winds weren't as strong today so I was glad about that. Today seemed to be a better day for running. I went about fifteen miles and stopped at the Husky in Caronport. When I pulled out the sandwich Karen had made me she had stuck a card inside with some well wishes. That was such a nice surprise I couldn't believe it. It cheered me up instantly. I went the rest of the way to Mortlach and stayed at the cookhouse. It was a cute little town. The lady at the corner store gave me some of its history and a few postcards. She was really nice. I also went over to the ice cream store for a treat before I went to bed.
