The morning was cool again and overcast but it warmed up after awhile. There was chance of rain today. The rolling hills continued and no services before I would hit Chaplin. Gidget is doing really well. Sometimes I think she keeps me going. The trains have been keeping me company in a way. The tracks follow pretty close to the highway and they pass almost every hour. Sometimes I think about how nice it would be to grab on and get a ride. Sometimes I try to keep up with them and then just watch them disappear. Some of the trains are so long.
I saw some geese today flying south. Made me wonder if I was going to reach Vancouver before winter. I sure hope so.
There were more dead birds on the side of the road. It started to drizzle just as I was getting to Chaplin. Then I saw this transport truck pulling over just ahead. This was unusual until I saw who it was. My sister Chris's inlaws, Jim & Helene. I couldn't believe it. They had passed me earlier and hoped they would run into me on their way back. I sat in the cab talking with them for a short while. They gave me something to drink and a fresh cinnamin bun. It was so good. We called Chris from their cell phone and she thought that was so cool. It was time for them to go and we had to say good bye. I waved as they pulled away. They had made my day. It was going to be a rainy cold night.
Even animals need compassion and kindness!
