I didn't feel very well today, just generally blah, maybe because I've been having restless sleeps. My legs were heavy starting out but on the positive side my poison aok has settled down finally.
There was a gradual uphill climb this stretch of the highway. Pretty much all the way to Belle Plaine. And the winds, the prairie winds. Its like pushing a wall sometimes. The mosquitos were out today and biting. I was glad I had some After Bite with me. Lots of grasshoppers too. I passed some dead birds of all sizes and a few dead foxes hit by cars. A few cars honked and waved but there wasn't much till I got to Belle Plaine. I lost my voice from the wind and blowing dirt. I felt like I was shouting when I talked to the waitress at the restaurant. There wasn't much in the way of services in this town so I set my tent up around back. I put on some dry clothes and then I called my sister Marie to let her know where I was. She was sick with a cold and she still cheered me up. I was a bit homesick today. After I talked to her for a bit I went inside for something to eat, I was so hungry. Then I settled into my tent. The plants around me glowed in the dark, it was kinda cool. There were dogs barking seemed like all night. The train came through every hour and the tracks weren't far from me. The temperature was much cooler now at night.
Even animals need compassion and kindness!
